Benazir Kafaalat is the unconditional cash-transfer component of BISP, paid quarterly to eligible women whose households fall below the PMT cut-off score. It is not something you 'register for' independently — your household's NSER survey and score determine whether you fall into the Kafaalat tier.

How the CNIC check works

The CNIC belonging to the female head of household (the person the payment is registered to) is entered on the official 8171 portal. The response confirms whether that CNIC is linked to an active Kafaalat case, shows a pending verification step, or indicates no active record.

• Use the CNIC of the registered female beneficiary, not a male household member, when checking Kafaalat status specifically.

Common reasons a Kafaalat case is paused

Payments can pause for reasons that are administrative rather than a loss of eligibility: an expired CNIC, a biometric mismatch at the payment point, or an unconfirmed household change. Each of these has a specific fix through the tehsil office rather than a new application.

• Expired CNIC — renew with NADRA, then ask the tehsil office to re-verify.
• Biometric mismatch — request a re-verification appointment; do not pay anyone offering to 'fix' this remotely.
• Household change (marriage, death, relocation) — submit an update request with supporting documents.

After a positive result

Once a case shows active, check the current payment cycle and location instructions through the official channel before traveling — do not rely on an old screenshot or a forwarded date, since disbursement schedules are announced per cycle.
